Traditional German Cheesecake

On the occasion of finishing my final exams I made a traditional German cheesecake. I used a mummy-approved recipe, which goes something like this.

4 eggs
250 g sugar
125g butter, room temperature
750g curd
200g creme fraiche
1 capsule of citrus aroma
lemon zest
40g semolina ("Grieß")
1 package of "Pudingpulver"-by Dr.Oetker
1 teaspoon baking powder

  1. In a bowl whisk the egg fluffy and mix in the sugar. Then add the softend butter. Now put in the curd.
  2. Add aroma and lemon zest.
  3. In a seperate bowl place all the dry ingredients and give them a stirr. Add dry ingredients to prepared mixture and use an electric mixer on low speed to combine.
  4. After buttering the baking pan and spreading flour, place mixture in form and bake for about 45min in oven at 175° C. (Unter- und Oberhitze).
