Traditional German Cheesecake
On the occasion of finishing my final exams I made a traditional German cheesecake. I used a mummy-approved recipe, which goes something like this.
250 g sugar
125g butter, room temperature
200g creme fraiche
1 capsule of citrus aroma
40g semolina ("Grieß")
1 package of "Pudingpulver"-by Dr.Oetker
1 teaspoon baking powder
- In a bowl whisk the egg fluffy and mix in the sugar. Then add the softend butter. Now put in the curd.
- Add aroma and lemon zest.
- In a seperate bowl place all the dry ingredients and give them a stirr. Add dry ingredients to prepared mixture and use an electric mixer on low speed to combine.
- After buttering the baking pan and spreading flour, place mixture in form and bake for about 45min in oven at 175° C. (Unter- und Oberhitze).
